A little preparation makes the journey and first evening easier. Use this checklist whether you are arriving from elsewhere in the US or travelling internationally.
Choose how your group will travel
Compare a rental car with prebooked transfers or rideshare using your actual villa address, passenger count and luggage. Include return trips, parking and child-seat arrangements in the decision. Do not assume a villa stay includes an airport or park shuttle.
For Orlando International Airport, consult MCO’s official ground-transportation directory and your provider’s pickup instructions. Follow your arriving airport’s guidance if you are flying into a different airport.
Rental cars and tolls
Florida’s Turnpike explains that rental companies use different toll-payment arrangements and fees. Check your agreement before collecting the car. If you plan to use a personal compatible transponder, review the operator’s instructions and coordinate with the rental company to avoid conflicting arrangements. Pack for the first evening
- Keep arrival instructions, your transport booking and contact details easy to retrieve.
- Have chargers, a change of clothes and the items you need on arrival in an accessible bag.
- Bring swimwear if you plan to enjoy the pool after settling in.
- Plan a simple dinner and breakfast rather than a full grocery shop immediately.

For outings
- Comfortable footwear and spare socks
- Weather-appropriate layers, sun protection and rainwear
- A phone charger or power bank
- A small bag that meets your park’s rules
For your villa
- Personal toiletries and preferred supplies
- Swimwear and relaxed clothes
- Your household’s food essentials
- Any specialist equipment you have confirmed is not supplied

International arrivals
Check your passport, entry and transit requirements through the relevant official authorities for your nationality and journey. Confirm roaming or mobile-data arrangements, device charging compatibility and your airline’s baggage rules. This page is a practical packing aid, not immigration advice.
Build in time for the last day
Check your reservation’s checkout instructions, allow for traffic and fuel or charging stops, and follow the airport and airline’s arrival guidance. Keep travel documents and essentials separate from packed luggage.
