The first day of an Orlando vacation can feel like a relay race: land, collect bags, pick up the car, find the villa, feed everyone and get ready for tomorrow. The easiest way to make it feel like a vacation is to give the first 24 hours one job—help the group settle in.
This plan starts when your Sunchic villa is ready and ends the next morning. It complements our Orlando villa arrival-day checklist with a simple order of operations, so you do not need to solve every decision at once.
Before check-in: keep the essentials with you
Standard check-in is 4 p.m. unless your reservation instructions say otherwise. Do not plan around early entry. Keep private arrival details where the lead traveler can reach them without searching through group messages.
Your first-hour bag should stay with you. Useful items include medications, chargers, a change of clothes, toiletries, pajamas, swimwear and a familiar comfort item for younger travelers. If a checked bag is delayed, the group can still handle the first evening.
4–6 p.m.: enter, orient and choose rooms
Start with a five-minute walkthrough before unloading every bag. Find the bedrooms, bathrooms and main shared spaces, then use the actual room and floor-plan guide to match people with beds. This is faster—and more accurate—than deciding from memory.
Next, read the house instructions and check the starter supplies already in the villa. Sunchic provides linens, towels, pillows, covers and a starter set of household items, including bathroom tissue, trash-can liners, a kitchen paper-towel roll, travel-size shower products, dishwashing supplies and starter laundry pods. Kitchens include cookware, utensils, plates, glasses and flatware, but food and a stocked pantry are not included. The current details are listed in the Sunchic FAQs.
If your group plans to swim, review the pool barriers and adult-supervision plan. Pool and spa heating is optional and should appear in your quote when included; the spa is not heated independently. Our pool and spa heating guide explains what to confirm before expecting heated water.
6–9 p.m.: keep dinner and groceries small
Arrival night is not the time to stock the entire vacation. Choose an easy dinner, then order or collect only what you need for the first evening and breakfast. Check the villa before ordering duplicates, and do not assume a delivery driver can leave groceries inside before check-in.
A short first order usually works better than a full-trip guess: water and preferred drinks, breakfast, snacks, one simple meal and any personal items your group requires. Use the Orlando grocery-delivery guide to compare the practical options.
Before bed: prepare tomorrow in ten minutes
Ask each traveler to do one small job: charge devices, set out clothes, refill the day bag or confirm breakfast. The lead traveler can check the group’s realistic departure time and use official attraction information for current hours and policies.
This is also a good time to place the essentials in one visible spot: reservation details, car keys, wallets, medications and anything children need in the morning. A calm departure usually begins the night before.
The first morning: confirm, then go
Before everyone scatters, do a two-minute check: breakfast handled, devices charged, day bag packed and departure time understood. If plans are flexible, protect a little margin instead of filling every minute.
Sunchic’s My Stay Planner can help you organize personal trip notes and tasks in your browser. It does not confirm a reservation or automatically send reminders, so continue to rely on your booking confirmation and private arrival instructions for official details.
